Peter Obi Questions EFCC's Timing on Osun Account Freeze

In a statement on his X handle on Thursday, Obi questioned the timing of this action, which occurred just before the state's governorship election.

He emphasized his support for the fight against corruption but cautioned that such efforts should not be misused for political intimidation or to interfere with democratic processes. Obi stated that if investigations had been ongoing for months, the timing of the account freeze raises legitimate questions.

He urged that public institutions must remain independent and impartial, especially during elections, to maintain public confidence in democracy.
