Obidient Movement Accuses INEC, APC of Blocking Obi

The Obidient Movement has raised alarms regarding alleged coordinated efforts by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to obstruct Peter Obi's political ambitions ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The group claims that recent developments surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are not ordinary political events but part of a larger scheme to undermine Obi's viability as a candidate.

Yunusa Tanko, the movement's coordinator, stated that the delisting of the ADC by INEC is a deliberate attempt to disrupt Obi's political path and threatens the credibility of Nigeria's electoral process. The situation escalated with Obi's visit to Kano on March 22, 2026, where he was warmly received by former NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The Obidient Movement insists that these actions are designed to weaken opposition voices and calls on civil society and the international community to monitor political developments closely to safeguard democratic principles in Nigeria.
