Uzokwe: Obi to Return to ADC if Atiku Steps Down

Ifeanyi Uzokwe, a member of the House of Representatives, discussed the potential return of Peter Obi to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) contingent upon Atiku Abubakar stepping down from the presidential race. Uzokwe indicated that this decision is linked to leadership issues within the political coalition and the structure of the party.

He mentioned that members of the coalition met with Atiku Abubakar to request that he step aside to facilitate a fair process for selecting a candidate. This would allow key figures, including Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, to participate in the party primaries.

Uzokwe emphasized the belief that the South should produce the next presidential candidate, highlighting the ongoing discussions within the coalition regarding leadership and representation.
