Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech announced his separation from his wife of 26 years, Martina Cechova, on social media. The couple, who have two children, Adela and Damian, met as teenagers in 1999 and officially married in June 2003.

Cech, who missed the birth of his daughter Adela in 2008 due to a Chelsea League Cup match, enjoyed a successful career with Chelsea before joining Rennes in 2004. He won multiple titles during his time at Chelsea, including four Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League in 2012.

Cech retired in 2019 and has since served as a technical performance advisor for Chelsea. The news of his split comes amidst other high-profile footballers, like Matthijs De Ligt, also facing personal challenges in their relationships.
