Nigerian Petrol Station Attendants Speak Out on Low Wages and Safety Concerns

Petrol station attendants in Nigeria have spoken out about their low wages and poor working conditions despite being crucial in the fuel distribution chain. Workers from Concerned Petrol Station Workers (CPSWs) revealed earning as low as thousands per month, with some earning slightly higher depending on the station's policies.

The attendants face challenges like exposure to fuel fumes, fire outbreaks, and robberies without proper safety gear or insurance. Calls have been made to the Nigerian government and the Ministry of Labour to address these issues and enforce safety standards in petrol stations nationwide.
