APC Chieftain Demands Investigation into PFIPC Corruption

Ayekooto Akindel, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has demanded an investigation into allegations of corruption surrounding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The controversy implicates high-ranking officials, including President Bola Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and PFIPC's self-acclaimed Director General, Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew.

Allegations include the creation of a fake agency and the misallocation of funds, with claims that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was involved in opening accounts for this non-existent agency. In an interview on Thursday night, Adeyemi defended his appointment as legitimate, while Akindel insisted on the need for an investigation into the actions of top officials, including the Inspector General of Police, who allegedly provided protection for Adeyemi amid these claims.
