ADC Critiques ICPC Report on PFIPC Scandal

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the interim report released by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). In a statement issued on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC described the report as predictable and inadequate, accusing the Federal Government of focusing on damage control rather than conducting a thorough investigation.

The ADC pointed out that the report failed to clarify how a fictitious agency managed to secure federal office space, have civil servants assigned to it, and be included in the 2026 budget with a provision of N1.3 billion. They also noted the investigation uncovered two other fictitious organizations linked to the principal suspect.

The ADC called for the full publication of the ICPC's interim report and demanded that all public officials whose actions enabled the entities to gain legitimacy be named and held accountable. The party expressed concerns that the ICPC report appeared more focused on exonerating government officials than addressing the serious questions raised by the scandal.
