Adeyemi Demands Media Presence in PFIPC Probe

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee, led by Yusuf Gagdi, is investigating the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) regarding its budgetary allocation of over N1.32 billion in the 2026 Appropriation Act and its official office accommodation in Abuja, despite claims of lacking legal existence. Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-appointed Director-General of the PFIPC, is currently in police custody and has insisted that his lawyers and journalists be present during his questioning by the committee.

The committee has yet to finalize the venue for this session, which is expected to occur this week. Previous testimonies from senior government officials, including Didi Walson-Jack and Tanimu Yakubu, have raised concerns about Adeyemi's recognition and access within government circles.

The Coalition of United Political Parties has criticized the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission's findings on the PFIPC, calling for a more thorough investigation.
