Reps Summon Adeyemi Martin Over Forgery Allegations

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee is investigating Adeyemi Martin, who is alleged to have promoted the controversial Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) and the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) through forgery. The committee, chaired by Hon.

Yusuf Gagdi, has directed Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu to produce Martin before the panel on Wednesday. This directive follows evidence from the Nigeria Police Force and the Office of the Accountant-General suggesting that government documents may have been forged.

Martin allegedly misrepresented himself as the Director-General of both councils, securing accommodation at the Federal Secretariat and attempting to recruit personnel and include ₦1.3 billion in the 2026 Appropriation Act. An Assistant Commissioner of Police, Basir Abdullahi, confirmed that the police have filed an eight-count charge against Martin at the Federal High Court.

The investigation was initiated by a petition from the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President dated October 17, 2025, and investigators identified 29 suspected forged documents.
