Gbajabiamila Sues Adeyemi for N10 Billion Defamation

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, has initiated a defamation lawsuit against Adeniyi Adeyemi, seeking N10 billion in general damages, N5 billion in aggravated damages, and N200 million in costs. The lawsuit, filed at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, stems from allegations made by Adeyemi, who claimed that Gbajabiamila demanded a 48% kickback from a N27.3 billion grant approved for the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Gbajabiamila's legal representation, led by Kemi Pinheiro, described the allegations as false and malicious. The suit requests that Adeyemi retract his statements and publish an apology in five national newspapers and on social media.

Gbajabiamila denies any involvement in the alleged kickback scheme and asserts that Adeyemi is facing criminal prosecution for related offenses. The Chief of Staff maintains that the allegations have severely damaged his reputation built over decades of public service.
