Falana to Defend Adeyemi in Gbajabiamila Bribery Case

Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer, will lead the legal defense of Adeniyi Adeyemi in a case against Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. Adeyemi has filed criminal charges against the Federal Government, alleging forgery and conspiracy related to accusations of bribery against Gbajabiamila.

Adeyemi publicly accused Gbajabiamila of demanding N400 million upfront and an additional N200 million for facilitating his appointment to a government position. Furthermore, Adeyemi alleges that Gbajabiamila sought 48% of the agency's off-grant, amounting to N27.4 billion.

Gbajabiamila has strongly rejected these allegations, labeling them as false. The Federal Government's response indicates that Adeyemi's appointment is not recognized by the Tinubu administration, citing various government institutions.

The case has attracted national attention due to the serious nature of the corruption claims.
