HoCSF Admits Due Diligence Failures on PFIPC Establishment

On Wednesday in Abuja, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, admitted to the House of Representatives' Ad-hoc Committee that due diligence was not adequately performed, resulting in discrepancies in the documents for the establishment of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

This oversight contributed to the allocation of N1.3 billion to the PFIPC in the 2026 Appropriation Act. Walson-Jack stated that the Establishment Act was not authentic, a conclusion she reached due to her nearly 30 years of legal practice experience.

She noted that while they had received the authorized establishment documents, they were still unable to locate the recruitment waiver. Walson-Jack emphasized the need for improved processes to prevent fraud and acknowledged the responsibility of her office in this matter.
