PFN Urges Federal Government to Address Insecurity

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating state of insecurity across Nigeria, urging the federal government to take immediate action to protect lives and restore peace. PFN President Bishop Francis Wale Oke made this declaration during a press conference in Ibadan, Oyo State, following a three-day national fasting and prayer program held from May 22 to May 24, 2026.

He highlighted the alarming increase in violence, including high-profile cases of abduction and killings, such as the prolonged captivity of the Chibok schoolgirls and Leah Sharibu. Bishop Oke noted that insecurity has reached intolerable levels, undermining public confidence in the government's ability to protect its citizens.

He criticized the government's inadequate response to the crisis and called for a comprehensive review of Nigeria's security strategy. The PFN urged Christians across Nigeria to unite in prayer and civic engagement to address the worsening security situation.
