Phil Foden Signs New Manchester City Deal Until 2030

Phil Foden has signed a new four-year contract with Manchester City, which will keep him at the club until 2030, with an option for a further year. This new agreement comes as Foden's current deal is set to expire next summer.

The contract extension underscores Manchester City's long-term faith in the academy graduate, despite his recent struggles, including not scoring since December 14 and being benched during a recent match against Everton. Following this match, City is five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, although they have a game in hand in the title race.

The new deal also positions Foden to secure a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, as Tuchel has indicated that midfield spots are not guaranteed. Foden made his senior debut under Pep Guardiola at age 17 and has since made 365 appearances for the club, winning six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, and two FA Cups.

Former England captain Wayne Rooney believes Foden remains a key player in Guardiola's side.
