Burna Boy and Shakira Rehearse for World Cup Halftime Show

Nigerian afrobeat star Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, and Colombian pop icon Shakira met ahead of their performance at the FIFA World Cup final halftime show. They shared a warm moment during rehearsals on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA, where they embraced and exchanged smiles.

Burna Boy posted a video on his social media, captioning it with excitement for the event. They are set to perform "Dai Dai," the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, during the tournament's first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show.

The halftime break will extend beyond the traditional 15 minutes to accommodate performances and broadcast preparations, totaling a 30-minute break that includes an 11-minute performance segment. Burna Boy and Shakira previously performed "Dai Dai" at the tournament's opening ceremony in Mexico City.

The halftime show is expected to feature co-headliners including Madonna, Justin Bieber, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, PS22 Chorus, and characters from Sesame Street.
