Kwankwaso Meets Gawuna as He Resigns from FMBN

Rabiu Kwankwaso, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party, met with Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State. Gawuna announced his resignation as Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, effective immediately, aligning with the directive from President Bola Tinubu for political appointees to step down in compliance with the Electoral Act ahead of upcoming elections.

Gawuna expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and described his tenure as a privilege that allowed him to contribute to the development of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. He indicated that he would be joining the African Democratic Congress following his official defection from the All Progressives Congress, with his resignation letter dated March 27, 2026.

Gawuna assured that he would ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities in line with established procedures prior to his resignation from the Federal Mortgage Bank.
