Truck Crashes into Gombe Government House Gate, No Injuries

On Tuesday, around 12:55 PM, a truck loaded with sand lost control and crashed into the main gate of the Gombe Government House, causing significant structural damage. The gate, reportedly part of an ongoing renovation project overseen by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, was newly installed and valued at several million naira.

Eyewitnesses, including trader Musa Abdullahi and commercial motorcyclist Ibrahim Sadiq, noted that the truck approached at high speed before the driver appeared to lose control, veering off the road and hitting the gate. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among pedestrians, although the driver sustained injuries and was taken for treatment.

The vehicle involved is alleged to belong to Tricata Nigeria Ltd, although its registration number was not available at the scene. Ismaila Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs at the Gombe Government House, confirmed that there were no fatalities and expressed gratitude for the absence of loss of life.

The incident highlights the ongoing infrastructural renovations in the state.
