BYM Votes No Confidence in OPEP Sector Commander Amid Attacks

The Berom Youth Moulder Association (BYM) has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, leading to a vote of no confidence in Col. Victor Asuquo, the OPEP Sector Commander.

The association, represented by Rwang Tengwong and Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, criticized the ongoing attacks by armed Fulani militia, which have resulted in the deaths of at least 34 individuals and the destruction of farmland.

Despite the presence of security personnel, attacks continue unabated, leaving communities vulnerable. The BYM highlighted a specific incident where a local citizen, Mr.

Gyang Kim Choji, was killed near a security checkpoint, raising questions about the effectiveness of the security forces. The association demanded the immediate redeployment of Col.

Asuquo and Captain Bello, stating that the people of Barkin Ladi have lost confidence in their ability to ensure safety and security.
