PIGD's Nengak David Urges Vigilance Amid Plateau Attacks

Nengak David, the National Coordinator of the Plateau Initiative for Growth and Development (PIGD), has called on residents of Plateau State to stay vigilant and assist in preventing further violence after renewed attacks in the region. He urged individuals with credible information regarding threats or armed movements to promptly inform the police or trusted community leaders while ensuring their safety.

Following attacks in Barkin Ladi and Mangu, where a senior police officer and three civilians were killed, David emphasized the need to reject reprisals and avoid blaming entire ethnic or religious communities for individual crimes. He encouraged traditional and religious leaders to mediate emerging disputes before they escalate.

David also warned against sharing unverified information and urged residents to adhere to the state’s curfew and motorcycle ban. He appealed for assistance to reach affected individuals through local groups, stressing the importance of community cooperation and government action on credible reports.
