Plateau State Government Condemns Recent Attacks

The Plateau State Government condemned fresh attacks by gunmen in Mangu Local Government Area on Saturday, September 12, 2026, and a separate incident in Jos South on Sunday, September 13, 2026, which resulted in loss of lives and injuries. In a statement from the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the government expressed grave concern over these incidents, particularly as efforts to enhance peace and security in the state were ongoing.

The government urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and provide timely information to prevent further violence. It warned against retaliation, stating that such actions could escalate violence and undermine peace-building efforts.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang reaffirmed the administration's commitment to securing the state and protecting lives and property. The government extended condolences to the victims' families and assured affected communities of its support, while security agencies were deployed to the affected areas to maintain order.
