Seven Bodies Recovered After Terror Attack in Plateau

In Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, seven bodies, including that of a police officer, were recovered after a coordinated attack by armed assailants on Saturday night. Rwang Tengwong, a leader of the Berom Youth Moulder Association, confirmed the recovery in a statement on Sunday, noting that the bodies were deposited at a mortuary.

Six individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving medical attention. The attacks reportedly occurred simultaneously in multiple areas, including Sabon Layi, Rakung, and Gangar, despite a heavy security presence in Barkin Ladi.

The Berom Youth Moulder Association expressed deep concern over the security failures, criticizing the Plateau State Government for its inadequate response to recurring attacks. They questioned the lack of a dedicated Ministry of Homeland Security and called for immediate humanitarian intervention to support affected communities.

The Plateau State Police Command has yet to officially respond to the incident.
