Plateau State Enhances Digital Transformation with NCC

Plateau State is advancing its digital transformation initiatives by collaborating with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to establish a technology-driven economy. Governor Caleb Mutfwang announced this during a courtesy visit from NCC Executive Commissioner Rimini Makama at the new government house in Rayfield.

Mutfwang highlighted the importance of moving beyond policy discussions to implement high-impact solutions, particularly in artificial intelligence, to drive development. He revealed plans to establish a business process outsourcing initiative aimed at creating at least 500 jobs for youth.

The governor stressed the need for a coordinated approach to digital transformation across all government sectors and expressed concern over outdated administrative practices. Makama acknowledged Plateau State's strategic importance in Nigeria's digital landscape and emphasized the necessity of bridging the digital divide, particularly in rural communities.

The visit marked the beginning of strategic engagement between the NCC and Plateau State to explore initiatives that will enhance broadband access and drive inclusive growth.
