Plateau Government Rescues 16 Trafficked Children in Jos Operation

The Plateau State Government successfully rescued 16 children who were being trafficked in Bassa Local Government Area from Anambra State. The children, aged between four and nine, were intercepted by security personnel and taken to a motor park in Jos.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Caroline Dafur, disclosed that the children have been reunited with their families. The suspected trafficker has been arrested and will face prosecution.

This rescue operation is a significant step in the fight against child trafficking, with Governor Caleb Mutfwang's administration emphasizing the protection of vulnerable groups. Residents are urged to report any suspicious activities related to child trafficking to authorities promptly.
