Trafficking: Adamawa govt reunites 14 children with their families

The Adamawa State Government recently reunited 14 children with their families after they were rescued from traffickers last month. The event, which took place in Yola, marked the end of a harrowing ordeal that began when the state Police Command, with the support of the government, traced the trafficked children to Anambra State and brought them back to Yola.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, on behalf of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, handed the children over to their parents during the ceremony. Farauta expressed gratitude to the security agencies for their role in safely bringing the children back and highlighted the unfortunate prevalence of child trafficking in Adamawa State.

It was revealed that the children were lured with snacks by a woman who then sold them to accomplices in Anambra State. The parents were also given a cash sum by the state government to help start small businesses and take care of their children.
