Four Suspects Remanded in DSS Custody Over Plateau Killings

On March 28, 2026, a violent attack in Angwa Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, led to the deaths of no fewer than 30 individuals, including children. In response, four suspects—Isa Umar, Ibrahim Auwalu, Abubakar Musa, and Abubakar Ibrahim—were arraigned in a Plateau State High Court on Thursday.

The court, presided over by Justice Gidelia Fomyom, adjourned the case until April 30, 2026, due to the absence of defense counsel. The suspects were remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) pending the next hearing.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the attack, describing it as an attempt to destabilize the state, and emphasized the need for peace despite the violence. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had previously visited the state, assuring victims of justice and urging residents to remain vigilant.

The charges against the suspects include criminal conspiracy and terrorism-related offenses, as filed by the state attorney general, Philemon Daffi.
