Diaspora Group Calls for State Police Amid Plateau Killings

The Plateau State Association USA Inc. (PSA USA) issued a statement condemning the recent killings in Plateau State, describing the violence as unacceptable and a grave concern that requires immediate coordinated action. The statement, made available in Abuja, was presented by the association's president, Dr.

Barth Shepkong. He highlighted the recurring nature of attacks in the state, underscoring a serious gap in the overall security coordination and the continuous loss of innocent lives.

The group called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the federal government to take urgent steps to address the deteriorating security situation in Plateau State, emphasizing that protecting lives and property is a primary responsibility of the government. They reiterated the need for comprehensive security reforms, including the establishment of state police, to effectively address localized evolving threats.

The PSA USA also stressed the importance of holding those responsible for violence accountable and urged all stakeholders in Plateau State to act decisively to restore public confidence and protect citizens.
