Mangu DPO Urges Herders to Avoid Reprisals After Killings

Yusuf, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Mangu, appealed to herders to refrain from retaliatory actions following the killing of three herders while tending to their cattle in the Alonghome community of Mangu LGA on Saturday. In this incident, approximately 50 cattle were also killed.

Addressing mourners at the Mangu Cemetery, Yusuf stated that security forces, including the police, are striving to maintain law and order despite the escalating violence. He emphasized that "two wrongs cannot make a right" and urged the community to support security agencies in their efforts to achieve peaceful coexistence.

Yusuf expressed his sorrow over the killings and assured the community that the police would collaborate with other security agencies to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice. He encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities to the police to prevent further escalation of violence.
