BYM President Accuses Plateau Security of Complacency

Solomon Dalyop Mwantiri, the President of the Berom Youth Moulder Association (BYM), accused security agencies in Plateau State of disregarding warnings regarding potential attacks. He made these accusations on Monday during a visit to Angwan Rukuba in the Jos North Local Government Area, following a devastating attack by unknown gunmen on Sunday night.

Mwantiri highlighted that threats had been posted on social media, warning of violence during the Ramadan fast. He expressed concern over the lack of serious action from security agencies despite receiving intelligence reports about terrorist gangs planning to unleash violence in the state.

Mwantiri noted that the BYM had alerted security operatives about these threats three weeks prior, specifically mentioning the movements of terrorist groups led by Bello Turji from Nasarawa and Southern Kaduna. He urged the state government and security hierarchy to conduct an intensive investigation into the complacency within the ranks of security agencies, emphasizing that the situation cannot continue to be ignored.
