Plateau Mob Kills Youths Suspected of Ruler's Murder

In Plateau State, a violent incident occurred where a mob killed several youths suspected of participating in the murder of traditional ruler Mr. Ponzhi from Kwallak Community.

The traditional ruler was attacked at his home on Thursday night, with reports indicating that the assailants arrived on motorcycles and shot him. Initially, the attack was thought to be the work of external Fulani bandits; however, subsequent developments revealed that the suspects were allegedly from within the community.

On Friday, the suspects were apprehended while attempting to sell a stolen motorcycle, and eyewitness accounts indicated that they confessed to their involvement in the crime. Following their arrest, a mob intercepted the suspects near the Langtang North Local Government Council secretariat and set them ablaze, reflecting the community's anger over the murder of their traditional leader.
