The Plateau State Government has issued a warning to residents regarding military operations in response to a bandit attack that occurred on March 13, 2026, in the Kanam Local Government Area. The incident took place around 4 PM when a combined team of military personnel and local vigilantes was ambushed while on a routine patrol in the Garga area.

The attack resulted in the death of security operatives.
