Plateau State Confirms Military Operation After Attack

On March 13, 2026, the Plateau State Government confirmed a military operation in response to an ambush that resulted in the deaths of no fewer than 20 security personnel, including local vigilantes, in the Garga area of Kanam Local Government Area. The incident occurred around 4 PM when a combined team of military personnel and vigilantes was conducting a routine patrol.

The government expressed deep concern over the attack, which left residents distressed, and condemned the violence against the Kyaram community. Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang reaffirmed the administration's commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents to remain calm and vigilant.
