Wase Constituents Demand Rotational Leadership Ahead of 2027

Constituents from Wase, Plateau State, are pushing for a zonal rotational leadership system in anticipation of the 2027 elections. This movement, led by Hon.

Idri Ahmad Wase, aims to address the perceived monopolization of political representation by a single district over the past 20 years. During peaceful protests, participants from four districts carried placards advocating for equitable political inclusion and a shift towards a rotational leadership framework.

Comrade Gunshin Yarl, the secretary of the concerned forum, emphasized the need for fair representation to strengthen unity and encourage broader participation in governance. Alhaji Yusuf Shagari, chairman of the APC Wase Local Government Area chapter, stated that the demands will be presented to APC stakeholders, who are expected to address these concerns and seek solutions.

The constituents believe that adopting a rotational framework will enhance grassroots development and reduce political friction among the districts.
