PMAN Unveils Reforms to Revitalize Abuja's Music Sector

The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has pledged to implement reforms to strengthen the music industry in Abuja. During a press briefing, PMAN representatives, including Michael Oyibo and Kayce, outlined plans to partner with private investors and cultural organizations to create a hub for live music and entertainment.

The initiative aims to train and empower 3,000 youths in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area in musical performance and business. PMAN acknowledged that recent years have seen a decline in member engagement due to internal disagreements and a lack of effective leadership.

The association emphasized its commitment to operate within the legal framework of Nigeria, particularly referencing the 1999 Constitution and the Trade Union Act. PMAN aims to establish a transparent and accountable administrative structure, including a digital membership registration system.

The association is also calling on the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to support its vision for youth engagement and economic development in the music industry.
