PMAN Unveils Reforms to Strengthen Abuja's Music Sector

The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has pledged to implement reforms to enhance the music sector in Abuja. During a press briefing on Friday, Michael Oyibo, the governor of the Federal Capital Territory chapter of PMAN, and Kayce outlined plans to partner with private investors and cultural organizations.

The initiative aims to train and empower 3,000 youths in the FCT area in live music performance and professional music business. They acknowledged that the union has not fully met members' expectations due to longstanding internal disagreements and a lack of continuous leadership.

The reforms will focus on establishing a clear administrative system, strengthening member engagement, and ensuring compliance with legal frameworks. PMAN aims to create a credible union that earns the trust of its members and stakeholders.

They also called on the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to support their vision for youth engagement and economic activity in the music industry.
