Police Arrest 10 for Violence at Lagos APC Primaries

On Saturday, during the APC primaries in the Alimosho area of Lagos State, violence erupted on Onilewura Street, Liasu Road, leading to panic among party members. Hoodlums stormed the venue, shooting sporadically and disrupting the electoral process, forcing party officials and voters to flee for safety.

Several party members sustained varying degrees of injury. The Lagos State Police Command, under the direction of Deputy Police Public Relations Officer ASP Femi Adeoy, confirmed the arrest of ten suspects linked to the violence, which was reportedly exploited by the assailants to rob attendees of mobile phones and valuables.

The suspects were taken to the Ikotun Division Police Station for further investigation, where firearms were also recovered. Adeoy assured residents that the police are committed to a thorough investigation and urged the community to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.

The primaries were part of the nationwide selection process for candidates for the 2027 general elections.
