Nigeria Police Arrest 13 More Suspects in ₦4.8 Billion Kainji Power Plant Theft

The Nigeria Police Force arrested 13 more suspects in connection with the ₦4.8 billion theft at the Kainji Power Plant in Niger State. This brings the total number of arrests to 25, following the initial arrest of 12 suspects.

Among those arrested are two senior employees of Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MSEL), the company managing the plant. The suspects, including Abubakar Jibril and Abdullateef Musa, are accused of conspiring to steal 100 new batteries from the company's store.

The police revealed that security guards and cleaners at the facility allegedly aided in disposing of the stolen items. The arrests were made by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna.
