NPF Arrests Armed Robbery Suspects, Recovers 10 Vehicles

On March 16, 2026, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) achieved a significant breakthrough in combating crime by arresting three notorious armed robbery suspects in Kaduna State. The suspects, identified as Abubakar Musa (36), Hassan Umar (30), and Joshua Raphael (20), were apprehended during an operation conducted by the NPF's Special Tactics Squad.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Abubakar Musa, the principal suspect, had previously impersonated a Nigerian Army soldier to evade detection while carrying out armed robbery operations. The investigation further indicated that the syndicate specialized in the theft and movement of stolen vehicles, often altering registration details to conceal ownership.

The operation resulted in the recovery of 10 stolen vehicles of various brands, including a Toyota Hilux truck, Toyota Corolla, Pontiac Vibe GT, Honda vehicles, Lexus car, and a Toyota RAV4 SUV, with several vehicles found without registration numbers. Ongoing investigations aim to apprehend additional fleeing members of the syndicate.

DCP Anthony Placid, the NPF's Force Public Relations Officer, and IGP Olatunji Disu commended the professionalism of the operation and reiterated the NPF's commitment to ensuring safety and security.
