Katsina Police Arrest 225 Suspects, Rescue 17 Victims

In May 2026, the Katsina State Police Command reported the arrest of 225 suspects connected to various crimes, including kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, and drug trafficking. DSP Abubakar Sadiq disclosed this information during a presentation of the command's operational scorecard.

Among the arrests were seven suspects involved in kidnapping, ten linked to armed robbery, and 21 drug peddlers. The command also reported the rescue of 17 kidnap victims, who were subsequently debriefed and reunited with their families.

The police recovered significant exhibits, including 20 laptops, two mobile phones, and various drugs, totaling 466 rustled animals, three vehicles, and 22 motorcycles. The command emphasized the importance of collaboration with other security agencies and the support from Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu in their ongoing efforts to restore public safety and combat crime in the region.
