Abia Police Arrest Motorcycle and Drug Dealer in 2026

On September 23, 2026, the Abia State Police Command conducted a coordinated raid at a criminal hideout in Onitsha Ngwa, Obingwa LGA, based on actionable intelligence. During the operation, they arrested 20-year-old Ebuka Nwakerindu from Umuokoromiri Village, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.

The police recovered a locally made single-barrel long gun, a 50kg bag of substances suspected to be Cannabis sativa, and three motorcycles. Following the raid, Nwakerindu, who specializes in the theft and resale of motorcycles, was apprehended on September 24, 2026.

The police are actively pursuing his accomplices who fled the scene. The recovered items are in police custody, and Nwakerindu will be charged in court upon the completion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, reiterated the commitment to intelligence-driven operations and proactive crime prevention in the state.
