Police Arrest 24 Kidnapping Suspects in Imo State

The Imo State Police Command, under the leadership of DSP Henri Okoy, conducted an operation that resulted in the arrest of 24 kidnapping suspects in a thick forest within the Owerri West Local Government Area. This operation took place last Monday and was part of a broader initiative to combat rising crime rates in the region.

The operation involved 250 police personnel and targeted known hideouts of criminals. Among those arrested were Jonah Abotu (21 years), Abel John (22 years), Ibrahim Uband (40 years), Peter Samuel (28 years), Kabiru Yahaya (20 years), and Yahaya Adamu (22 years).

The police recovered incriminating evidence, including six unregistered motorcycles and suspected cannabis sativa. The suspects have been transferred to the Violent Crime Response Unit for thorough investigation and potential prosecution.

The Imo State Police Command, led by CP Audu Garba Bosso, reaffirmed its commitment to aggressive operations against criminal activities in the state.
