Kaduna Police Arrest 24 Suspected Kidnappers, Seize Arms

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 24 suspected kidnappers and recovered 26 firearms, over 500 rounds of live ammunition, and 38 live cartridges in separate operations across the state. Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabiu, announced these operational achievements during a press briefing.
The recovered items included AK-47 rifles, locally made guns, and pistols. Notably, police operatives arrested 45-year-old Abdullahi Ibrahim in Kudan Local Government Area on September 24, recovering two locally made AK-47 rifles and other firearms from him.
Ibrahim claimed he obtained the arms from Saidu Magari and Mallam Ado, who remain at large. Additionally, the Vigilance Crime Response Unit intercepted a vehicle in Zaria used for transporting arms from Nguru, Yobe State, leading to further recoveries.
The Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested two suspected members of an arms trafficking syndicate, seizing 270 rounds of AK-47 ammunition. The police plan to continue intelligence-led policing and collaboration with security stakeholders to address criminal activities.
