Kaduna Police Seize Firearms, Stolen Vehicles, Counterfeit Cash

The Kaduna State Police Command conducted operations resulting in the recovery of one pump-action rifle, nine fabricated firearms, two stolen vehicles, and 332 pieces of suspected counterfeit $100 notes. The operations were initiated following intelligence received on August 31, 2026, regarding armed bandits disturbing farmers in the Kidandan area of Giwa Local Government Area.

During an encounter, bandits opened fire but fled, abandoning a rifle, cartridges, and a motorcycle. Additionally, nine fabricated firearms were recovered around the Maraban Jos axis after police set up roadblocks based on intelligence about gunrunners.

On September 2, three suspects—Hashiru Ibrahim, Mohammed Ibrahim, and Umar Hassan—were arrested in Panteka, Kurmin Mashi, while allegedly trying to sell a stolen black GMK Jeep valued at N70 million for N4 million. Another operation led to the recovery of a white Toyota Hilux stolen from Agadez, Niger Republic, with Abubakar Abdullahi arrested in possession of it.

Kabir Yusuf was also arrested for possessing 332 pieces of counterfeit $100 notes, which he claimed to have obtained from Sahibu Ruhan, who is currently at large.
