Ogun Police Arrest 43 in Major Crime Raid in Ogun State

On July 7, 2026, Ogun State Police Command's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit arrested 43 suspects during a coordinated raid on notorious criminal hideouts in Isheri Olofin, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, opposite Kara Cattle Market. The operation, part of the command's ongoing "Operation Kosay," was executed following credible intelligence about criminal activities in the area, which has been identified as a hub for cult-related activities, drug abuse, and prostitution.

The raid resulted in the recovery of illegal substances, including Indian hemp and hard drugs, as well as ten mobile phones, four power banks, and two ATM cards. The suspects, comprising 28 males and 15 females, were charged with various offenses, including criminal conspiracy, membership in unlawful societies, and possession of illicit drugs.

Ogun State Police Command's CP Bode O jajuni commended the operation as a significant milestone in the fight against crime, urging residents to remain vigilant and support police efforts.
