Police Arrest 33 Terror Suspects, Seize Anti-Aircraft Launcher

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) arrested no fewer than 33 suspected members of a criminal network linked to terrorism, kidnapping, and armed robbery. The arrests occurred during a coordinated operation across Kwara and Kogi states, following investigations into an attack on the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, in November 2025, which resulted in the deaths of at least three worshippers and the abduction of 38 others, including the pastor.

The operation, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Anthony Placid, recovered significant weaponry, including seven AK-47 rifles, an anti-aircraft launcher, and 32 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition. The suspects were apprehended based on credible intelligence, and investigations are ongoing to capture additional gang members and recover more weapons.

The arrested individuals will face prosecution once the investigation concludes.
