Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers in Kwara State

On May 5, 2023, at approximately 7:30 PM, the Kwara State Police Command arrested two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate, Adamu Ibrahim (30) and Sani Musa (29), in Ilorin. The operation was conducted by an intelligence response team following credible intelligence and sustained surveillance.

The police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, stated that preliminary investigations revealed the suspects were attempting to evade security detection and were allegedly planning a criminal operation with a female accomplice. The suspects led the police to their hideout, where three AK-47 rifles, five AK-47 magazines, and 143 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered.

The suspects confessed to being part of a kidnapping syndicate operating within Kwara State. The police assured residents that efforts to apprehend fleeing suspects are ongoing, and the arrested individuals will be charged in court once investigations are concluded.
