Oyo Police Arrest Man for Defiling 12-Year-Old Girl

The Oyo State Police Command arrested a 35-year-old man identified as Abul for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in the Araromi area of Molet, Ibadan. According to a statement from the command, the suspect lured the girl to an incomplete building while attempting to collect payment for snacks he was hawking.

The incident was reported to the police, prompting a swift response from the Sanyo Division, which led to the arrest of the suspect. The survivor was taken for medical examination and treatment.

The case has been transferred to the Gender Department for further investigation, as directed by the Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Olugbenga. The police command reiterated its commitment to prosecuting offenders and ensuring that perpetrators of such heinous acts face the full wrath of the law.
