Bauchi Police Arrest Man for Alleged Defilement of Minor

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested 60-year-old Musa Garba for the alleged defilement of a 9-year-old minor in Magama Gumau, Toro Local Government Area. The arrest followed a report from the victim's 47-year-old father, who informed the police that Garba had lured his daughter to a hideout where the act occurred over a seven-month period.

Upon detection, the police apprehended Garba, who voluntarily confessed to the offense during interrogation. Further investigations revealed that he had previously committed similar acts against the victim on multiple occasions at different locations.

The victim was taken to a general hospital in Toro for medical examination as part of the investigation. The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi for discreet investigation and prosecution efforts.

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Sani Omolori Aliyu, condemned the act and reaffirmed the command's zero-tolerance stance on crimes against children and sexual and gender-based violence, urging parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
