Man Arrested for Beheading 6-Year-Old Girl in Ibadan

On a Saturday, a 23-year-old man named Sodiq Akored was arrested by the Oyo State Police for the unlawful killing of a 6-year-old girl identified as Mutiyatu in Adigun Village, Olorunda, Ogunsola area of Ibadan. The Oyo State Police Command's public relations officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday.

Following reports of the crime, police officers swiftly mobilized to the scene despite facing stiff resistance from an angry mob. They successfully rescued the suspect and secured evidence found in his possession.

Upon interrogation, Akored confessed to the crime. He was subsequently conveyed to a medical facility for treatment of injuries sustained during the mob attack.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a discreet investigation and prosecution.
