Police Arrest 60-Year-Old Gun Runner in Cross River

On April 19, 2023, at 5:00 PM, the Cross River State Police arrested 60-year-old Okon William in Odukpani Local Government Area on allegations of illegal arms trafficking. The arrest was made by the Anti-Kidnap Unit following credible intelligence regarding the suspect's activities.

A thorough search of William led to the recovery of two locally fabricated long guns that were concealed in his possession. Preliminary investigations revealed that William was involved in illicit firearm trafficking using covert methods to evade arrest.

Additionally, he is believed to provide information to assist ongoing investigations into a network of illegal arms distribution in Cross River State.
