DSS Arrests Gunrunner, Seizes 832 Rounds of Ammunition

The Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Kelvin Ebikeniy Dugo in Cross River State following an attempt to acquire a large cache of ammunition. The arrest occurred on Monday in the Odukpani Local Government Area, based on credible intelligence regarding Dugo's plan to procure 832 rounds of live ammunition.

Reports indicate that Dugo intended to purchase the ammunition from a suspected gunrunner identified as Azenda Barnaba, known as "Jagaban," based in Benue State. The DSS operation intercepted Dugo shortly after he received a concealed shipment disguised as food items.

During the operation, a total of 832 rounds of live ammunition and two empty AK-47 magazines were recovered. The DSS has intensified its efforts to combat illegal arms trafficking, conducting sustained operations across various states as part of a nationwide initiative to dismantle gunrunning syndicates and curb the proliferation of illegal arms.
